My Story

My name is Kelley-Dakota, and I’m a student at Texas Tech University. I am an animal science major with a passion for livestock care and management.I started doing nails for my friends and roommate in December of 2024 and realized I found doing nails very therapeutic. However to provide nail services like manicures you have to go through beauty school and get a nail technician license, which was out of the question for someone who was already in the middle of getting her degree. Then I thought, “what about press on nails?. Press on nails provide more convenience for me as the creator, and also for the consumer who doesn’t have to spend 2-3 hours in my chair getting their nails done. Now it’s as simple as clicking order. What started as a small artsy hobby, has grown into a small business that I love and foster.

I was tired of paying for subpar designs at the salon that take hours to get done. That’s why I created Dakota Rylan Designs. I was absolutely tired of my nails not reflecting my personality and style, and also being so outrageously expensive. I wanted nails to be BETTER than salon quality for less than half the price. With my luxury press ons, you can wear them up to 2 weeks at time. They’re also reusable! Nails aren’t just a want, they’re a NEED for anyone who wants to elevate their style and show off their personality.

Myself and my mom, Kelley Renee, make all of our designs that we offer. We spend so many hours planning, drawing, and painting all of these designs! Over the course of almost a year I have expanded my small business to lots of farmers markets and art markets across north and west Texas. I have even been able to employ a friend of mine, majoring in ag marketing, Hannah! Hannah now will be taking on a huge role for Dakota Rylan Designs as our PR manager, making sure to keep all of our social medias active, trendy, and growing!
